(San Diego, CA) – Brian Maryott was today endorsed by the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), adding to Maryott’s ever-growing list of law enforcement support.

PORAC previously supported incumbent Rep. Mike Levin in the 2020 election and has now changed course to support Maryott in 2022. Maryott is also endorsed by the San Diego County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the Oceanside Police Officers Association, San Diego Police Officers Association, and the National Association of Police Officers (NAPO). This endorsement enforces that Brian Maryott is “Law Enforcement’s Choice” for the 49th District.

PORAC President Brian Marvel released the following statement:

“Brian Maryott is a steadfast supporter of law enforcement. He has a firm understanding of what is driving the nationwide crime spike and is eager to partner with law enforcement to solve it.We look forward to working with Brian when he is elected to Congress.”

Brian Maryott responded, “I’m proud to have earned the support of the largest law enforcement organization in California. Law enforcement organizations throughout the state have joined Team Maryott to stand against Rep. Mike Levin’s dangerous agenda. Levin advocated for weakening police departments and even voted to give nearly $1 billion in stimulus checks to violent criminals serving time in prison. That’s not the kind of leader our community needs, and I will continue to fight to bring common sense leadership to the 49th District this fall.”

The Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) was incorporated in 1953 as a professional federation of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. PORAC represents over 77,000 public safety members and over 950 associations, making it the largest law enforcement organization in California and the largest statewide association in the nation.
