Supervisor Anderson Endorses Maryott for Congress

"Brian is eminently qualified to represent the region in Congress and he will be a great partner with us in county leadership."

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — On Monday, Supervisor Joel Anderson endorsed Brian Maryott and released the following statement:

“Brian Maryott has shown he can succeed in private enterprise and as an elected official. As a former Mayor, he understands well the unique needs of our communities. He is eminently qualified to represent the region in Congress and he will be a great partner with us in county leadership. I am proud to endorse Brian for Congress, CA49.”

Brian Maryott responded, “I have immense respect for the work Joel has done for veterans, tax payers, and working families. Joel is a great leader and strong voice of reason for his community. I am honored to have Joel’s endorsement.”

Joel Anderson is the current San Diego County District 2 Supervisor and represents more than 620,000 residents in over 50 different communities. Joel formerly served in the East County San Diego assembly from 2007 to 2009 and in the California State Senate from 2010 to 2018. Joel has been recognized by American Veterans (AMVETS), with their Legislator of the Year award in 2012 for his work toward improving veterans’ lives in California. Joel has been married to his wife Kate for more than 30 years, where they live in San Diego with their three children.

To date, Brian Maryott has received the endorsements of the California Republican Party, Orange County Republican Party, San Diego Republican Party, San Diego Lincoln Club, Congressman Darrell Issa, The California Women’s Leadership Association, 11 Mayors, 5 City Council Members, 4 County Supervisors, 2 State Senators, and 2 Assemblymembers (including the Republican Leader in the Assembly)
