PETER WEISS ENDORSES BRIAN MARYOTT FOR CONGRESS

MARYOTT WILL PUT PEOPLE BEFORE PARTY SAYS COUNCIL MEMBER AND FORMER MAYOR
OCEANSIDE, Calif. — On Monday, Oceanside City Council Member Peter Weiss announced his endorsement of Brian Maryott for Congressional District 49, releasing the following statement:

“Brian Maryott is a candidate with a clear mission – to bring positive results to Oceanside and all of California. Oceanside is a diverse community with unique economies, constituencies, and needs, but also with a major area of common ground: the desire for elected officials who put our community’s interests first.

“Brian has shown that he will not let partisanship guide his decision making; instead, he will remain a leader that puts people before party. Brian will provide the long-needed leadership on the local homelessness crisis, which includes increases to federal funding for mental health services, drug counseling, and life rehabilitation training.

“Brian will be a vote for common sense economic policies that expand economic opportunity for all tax brackets, and he will vehemently oppose any attempts to increase taxes on low and middle income earners. I know Brian has what it takes to be an excellent representative in Congress.”

Peter Weiss, former Mayor and current city council member of Oceanside, has been a public servant for most of his career. Peter and his wife Janet raised four children in Oceanside, all of whom attended El Camino High School.
